Curtis Keith Trombley, age 71, of Escanaba, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at his home in Escanaba. He was born on February 26, 1952 in Escanaba, the son of John and Shirley (Day) Trombley. Curt was raised and attended school in Gladstone where he was a 1970 graduate of Gladstone High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from October 13, 1970 until he was honorably discharged on May 2, 1976. He married the former Esther Kroulik on October 20, 1973 in Saginaw, MI and she preceded him in death on November 20, 2016. Curt was employed as a machinist with Lakeside Machine Company in Gladstone and then moved to Saginaw and worked for Shear Tool until his retirement in 2017. He moved back to Escanaba in 2018. Curt loved the outdoors, hunting, going to camp, attending car shows and spending time with family at the lake property. The lake property is still owned by the Trombley family and continues to be a fun gathering place for summer picnics, camping, campfires, and games for all. Curt was a kind, fun loving husband, father, papa and brother who would do anything for anybody. He will be missed greatly by the family, friends and especially his brother Al.
Curt is survived by his children; John K. (Erin) Trombley, Bradley (Crystal) Trombley, Michelle Trombley (David Lolley) all from Upstate New York; 7 grandchildren; Flynn, Fallon, John K. III, Sierra, Kayla, Autumn and Madison; brother, Alan (Maxine) Trombley of Soo Hill; sisters, Diane Gobert (Bob Miller) of Gladstone, and Kathy Trombley (Tim Schwartz) of Escanaba; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Friday October 27, 2023 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Delta County Veteran’s Services will be held at 12:00 noon Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services celebrating the life of Curtis will follow, in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ben Garcia officiating. A reception will be held at the conclusion of the services in the Ludington Room located in the Anderson Funeral Home.
