Charles Edward Potter

Charles Edward Potter, Sr., age 65, of Gladstone, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022 at Aurora BayCare Health Center in Green Bay, WI. He was born on April 16, 1957 in Mount Pleasant, MI, the son of Mary Jane Small. Charles was raised in Mount Pleasant, MI where he also attended and graduated from high school. He married the former Linda Gelina on June 3, 1998 and together shared 24 years of marriage. Charles and Linda relocated to the Upper Peninsula in 2007 where he accepted employment with Anthony & Company in the paint paddles division and later for Meijer’s Grocery Store until his retirement. He greatly enjoyed living in the U.P. and all that the outdoors had to offer – especially hunting, fishing, and trap shooting clay pigeons. Charles will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of Gladstone; sons, James Irland of Gladstone and Charles Potter, Jr. of Cadillac, MI; step-children, Cris Lucier of Escanaba, Jessie Lucier of Escanaba, and Ryan Eastman of St. Louis, MO; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; siblings, Mark (Deb) Potter of Hawaii, Dan Potter of Mount Pleasant, MI, and Barb Ley of Mount Pleasant, MI; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Richard; and his sister, Linda.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Charles will follow at 6:15 p.m., Thursday, in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Father Rick Courier officiating. A luncheon will be held at the conclusion of the services at the Wells Township Hall in Wells, MI. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
