Charles “Chuck” A. Paavola, age 66, of Gladstone, passed away Saturday evening, August 28, 2021 at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba. He was born on October 19, 1954 in Detroit, MI, the son of Arthur O. and Agnes C. (Franzen) Paavola. Chuck grew up in Detroit, MI until the family moved to Florida. They lived in Florida for a while before settling in Gladstone. He was employed as a woods worker and would also help his mother and sister with odd-jobs. Chuck enjoyed playing cards, working on wood crafts, fishing, keeping up with the news, and being part of the Men’s Club. He was an avid Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers fan, loved rock and country music, and going outside – especially for outings. At Christian Park Healthcare Center, Chuck and his sister, Anna, would faithfully attend the Jehovah’s Witnesses group Bible study. Chuck will be greatly missed.
Charles A. Paavola is survived by his siter, Anna Lee Paavola of Escanaba; half-brother, Arthur Paavola of Gwinn; half-sister, Carolyn Paavola of Gwinn; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his half-sister, Nancy Paavola.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Chuck will follow at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Quentin Glasure officiating. Burial will take place in Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
