Briton Judd Hall Obituary

Briton Judd Hall, age 65, of Gladstone, passed away Thursday morning, December 8, 2022 at his home. He was born on August 4, 1957 in Detroit, MI, the son of Briton James and Joyce (Mathieson) Hall. Judd was raised and attended school in Escanaba where he was a 1976 graduate of Escanaba High School. During high school, Judd worked at Spares Tree Nursery in Escanaba. He went on to further his education and play football at Northwood University in Midland, MI. Judd then returned back to Escanaba and was employed by Home Supply Furniture Company for a few years before becoming a Blackjack dealer at the Island Resort and Casino. Judd married the former Amie Mehlberg on September 24, 1999 in Escanaba. Together, the couple had 3 sons and just celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary. When their boys were young, Judd became a stay at home dad to help raise them until they were older, creating countless memories and stories along the way. Judd loved anything and everything about the outdoors – he was a lover of animals and wildlife, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time at the family camp and cottage in Stonington. He was a great cook and loved sharing his recipes with the family. Judd enjoyed watching football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, followed by anyone who played the Green Bay Packers. He was a longtime member of Wildlife Unlimited of Delta County.

Judd is survived by his wife, Amie Hall of Gladstone; 3 sons, Briton Wyatt Hall, Braxton Watson Hall, and Brogen Weston Hall; sister, Lenore Vanvorden of Escanaba; 2 nephews; and 1 niece.

In addition to his parents, Judd was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Gilbert Vanvorden; and close friend, Robert Diedrich.

Private family funeral services were held.
