Brian (Skeeter) Shafranski Obituary

Brian D. “Skeeter” Shafranski, age 59, of Gladstone (formerly of Stevens Point, WI), passed away Saturday morning, December 18, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. He was born on November 1, 1962 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point, WI to parents David and Gladys (Kluck) Shafranski. Brian was raised and attended school in Stevens Point and went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point with a degree in Paper Science and Engineering. Growing up, he was involved with the Boy Scouts of America and received the Eagle Scout Award. Brian loved playing his trumpet for church and for just pure enjoyment. He was employed by Valmet as a Product Specialist and would often travel throughout the United States visiting various papermills. Brian married the former Joni Muffler on November 2, 2018 in Escanaba. Together, the couple shared many memories, smiles, laughter, and love. He enjoyed being outdoors, golfing, fishing, hunting, camping, and riding side-by-sides with his wife, family, and friends. Brian always loved to sit outside and watch the birds come into the feeders he had set up in the yard. He enjoyed watching the Packers play and loved to watch any college football game. His wife, son, daughter, and grandsons were the sunshine of his life. Brian loved to make everyone laugh. He had such a contagious laugh – he could cheer anyone up by listening to him. Brian had a great sense of humor and loved to always be the comedian making people laugh. He excelled at talking and carrying on conversations. Everywhere he went he ran into someone he knew or made a new friend he would remember for life. When you met Brian you instantly like him. To know Brian is to love him.
