Beverly Ann Gafner Peterson

Beverly Ann Gafner Peterson, age 91, of Texas (formerly of Escanaba), passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022. She was born on January 19, 1931 in Escanaba, MI to Alice and Emil Gafner. Beverly was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed playing golf, Bridge, traveling and going to casinos. Beverly and her husband, Herbert, owned and operated the Eastside News for nineteen years. She was a longtime member of St Rita Catholic Church.

Beverly is survived by her children, Julie Vecera and husband Jimmy, Brian Peterson and wife Sue, Jim Peterson and wife Suzy, Paul Peterson and wife Candie, Dawn Peterson, Bill Peterson, and Susan Peterson; grandchildren, Andrew and Anthony Vacerra, Andrea Langston, Caitlin LeBoenf, Maddi LeBoenf, Jessica Peterson, Ryan Peterson, Jessica Swafford, Sarah Peterson, Oivia Peterson, Katie George, Daniel George and Elizabeth George, and Matthew Peterson; four great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Gafner and wife Jean; and a host of extended family and friends.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Peterson.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Beverly will follow at 1:00 p.m., Friday, in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Father Rick Courier officiating. Entombment will take place at the conclusion of the services in the Gardens of Rest Mausoleum.
