Betty L. Mattson

Betty L. Mattson, age 68, of Cornell, passed away Friday, March 5, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. She was born on September 3, 1952 in Escanaba, the daughter of William and Marie (Boyle) McMartin. Betty was raised and attended school in Escanaba. She married William B. Mattson on June 9, 1970 and together made their home in Cornell with their son, Billy. Betty loved going on boat cruises with Bill and several of their friends. They went on 7 cruises total and also traveled to Hawaii. She loved to get dressed up on Packer Sundays and enjoyed being around her friends and family. After her husband Bill passed away, Betty met her fiancé, Louie Williams. Together, they enjoyed camping and going for rides. Within the past couple of years, Betty was grateful to reconnect with her sister and her cousins, Sue and Cookie.

Betty L. Mattson is survived by her son, Bill (Leslie) Mattson of Bark River; 2 granddaughters, Tabatha Mattson (Jake) of Kipling, and Tanisha Mattson (Andy) of Cornell; 2 great-grandsons, Brantley and Wyatt Anderson of Kipling; sister-in-law, Janice (Randy) Caron of Cornell; brother-in-law, Tom Murray of Bark River; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Mattson; fiancé, Louie Williams; her in-laws; sisters, Darlene Dart, and Mary Murray; and niece, Linda Holster.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2021 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Betty will follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday, in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Father Fran DeGroot officiating. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Rest Mausoleum.
