Bernice was born January 8, 1923 in Escanaba the daughter of Ralph and Clara Skoog.  She was raised in Escanaba and was a 1941 graduate of Escanaba High School.  After the War she married Gordon W. Bernice was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Gladstone and was involved in Grace Circle and quilt making.  During her life Bernice made hundreds of quilts that were shipped around the world to those in need. She was also a member Bay de Noc Coin and Stamp Club, Gladstone Senior Center, as well as others.  Bernice collected and displayed her antiques and volunteered at the UP State Fair for many years.

Bernice loved God and often expressed her thankfulness for family and friends.  She was a loving wife and mother who put her family ahead of everything else.
