Bernard Dale Lasich, age 82, of Garden passed away Friday, June 27, 2025, at Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique surrounded by his loving daughters. He was born July 20, 1942, in Marquette, MI to John and Anna (Barkovich) Lasich. Bernard grew up in Manistique, attended St. Francis de Sales Catholic grade school and graduated from Manistique High School in 1959.
Bernard enlisted in the United States Army. He sailed the Great Lakes on an Ore Boat out of Alpena. Bernard lived in Manistique and worked for the City of Manistique Water Treatment Plant until his retirement in 2000. He moved to Garden in 1999.
Bernie was an avid boxer in his younger years and in his later years coached boxing and was a referee for the Michigan Golden Glove Boxing Association. He loved animals, had the best sense of humor and kept it right until the end. Hunting was one of his pastimes and he loved having cocktails.
Bernard is survived by his children; Valerie (Stephen) Hartman of Manistique, Jeff Arrowood of Kingman, AZ, Angela (Cory) Potvin of Garden, Colleen Barlow of Garden and Tammy Dusseault (Fiancé, Mike Pattersen) of Manistique; grandchildren including Garrett Garvin, Grant Garvin, Brandon Labar, Joey Dosseaut, Sara Wood, Devin Fisk and John McGreger; many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of life in honor of Bernard will be held at a later date.
