Beatrice Dittrich Obituary

Beatrice M. Dittrich, age 92, of Bark River (Hyde), passed away Tuesday evening, October 6, 2020 at Christian Park Village in Escanaba. She was born on January 19, 1928 in Escanaba, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Nelson) Wittlock. Beatrice was raised and attended school in Escanaba and was a 1945 graduate of Escanaba High School. Following graduation, she relocated to Chicago and was employed with the Federal Government. In 1949 she moved back to Escanaba. The former Beatrice Wittlock married Ronald Dittrich on March 12, 1949. Together, the couple just celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary. Throughout the years, Beatrice worked at the Red Owl, she volunteered for the American Red Cross and received the Super Senior Volunteer of the Year Award. Beatrice was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hyde (WELS) and was very active in the Ladies Aid groups. She also volunteered for the Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL). Beatrice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Beatrice M. Dittrich is survived by her husband, Ronald Dittrich of Hyde; children, Beverly Dittrich (Mike Clark) of Atlanta, GA, Russell (Karla) Dittrich of Spring Creek, NV, Dan (Heidi) Dittrich of Lummi Island, WA, Howard (Karlene) Dittrich of Canton, GA, Elaine (Dave) Huckstep of Escanaba, Diane Dittrich Shea of Atlanta, GA, and Ken (Tracy) Dittrich of Manitowoc, WI; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Taylor; and brothers, Robert Wittlock and Cliff Wittlock.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 11, 2020 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Beatrice will follow at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, with Rev. Paul Doletzky officiating. Burial will take place in West Ford River Cemetery.
