Barbara Sue Malone, age 80, of Cedar Springs, MI (formerly of Escanaba and Ford River), passed away early Tuesday morning, February 9, 2021 at Green Acres of Cedar Springs in Cedar Springs, MI. She was born on February 3, 1941 in Laclede County, Missouri, the daughter of Ward and Loretta (Noble) Baker. Barb was raised in Missouri where she graduated from high school and attended Grace College of the Bible. The former Barbara Sue Baker married Richard L. Malone on March 5, 1958 in Las Vegas, NV and he preceded her in death in August of 1999. Together, the couple shared 41 years of marriage and raised two children, Pamela and Richard “Rick.” Barb loved being a pastor’s wife and was a daycare provider for many years in the area. She loved and served the Lord her God to the best of her ability. Barb had the gift of hospitality and used it frequently. In her days of retirement, Barb enjoyed volunteering for hospice and also helping out in her church.
Barbara Sue Malone is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Loren) Mason of Sioux City, IA; son, Richard “Rick” Malone of Sand Lake, MI; and granddaughters, Heidi Mason of Sioux City, IA, and Julie Mason of Estero, FL.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Deb Malone in November of 2020.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Barbara will be held at 10:00 a.m. (EST), Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Escanaba with Pastor Lewis Hague officiating. Burial will take place in Cedarville Township Cemetery.
