Anna L. Paavola

Anna L. Paavola, age 71, of Gladstone, passed away Tuesday morning, January 11, 2022 at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba. She was born on May 14, 1950 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Arthur O. and Agnes C. (Franzen) Paavola. Anna was raised in Detroit, MI where she also graduated from high school. The family relocated to Florida where they lived for a while before moving to the Upper Peninsula, settling in Gladstone. Anna would often help her mom and brother with odd-jobs and she greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. At Christian Park Healthcare Center, Anna and her brother, Chuck, would faithfully attend the Jehovah’s Witnesses group Bible study. Anna will be greatly missed.

Anna is survived by her half-brother, Arthur Paavola of Gwinn; half-sister, Carolyn Paavola of Gwinn; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her brother, Chuck Paavola on August 28, 2021; and her half-sister, Nancy Paavola.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Anna will follow at 2:00 p.m., Monday, with Quentin Glasure officiating. Burial will take place in Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
