Abram L. Morse, Jr., age 79, of Rapid River, passed away Saturday morning, January 1, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 9, 1942 in Detroit, MI, the son of Abram L. and Leota (Provot) Morse, Sr. Abram grew up in the Detroit area and was a graduate of Madison Heights High School. Following high school, Abram attended apprentice school to further his education in carpentry. He began his working career as a union carpenter and went on to own Morse Construction until 1976. Abram then owned Bay de Noc Builders from 1977 until 1983 before working for Harrison Construction as a foreman from 1985-2003. He retired as a foreman from Denco Construction in 2006. Abram married the former Norma G. Fetterhoff on July 30, 1960 in Madison Heights, MI. Together, the couple shared 61 years of marriage. Family was Abram’s top priority and he greatly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Each year, he made it a point to take the family up to Canada to go fishing and made this a tradition for over 30 years. Abram cherished his time spent with his family and enjoyed sitting around their kitchen table for family meals and playing dice – you could always find him at the head of the table drinking a diet Pepsi. He loved fishing and was a member of the Teaching Fishing Group in the Flint, MI area for many years. Abram also looked forward to planting his big garden each spring. He was a member of the Carpenters Local 687 since 1985. Abram always had a smile on his face and made the best of everything that life gave him. He will be so greatly missed by his family and friends.
