Sherri Lyn Schultz, age 72, of 7601 Co. 426 M.5 Rd in Gladstone (Groos), passed away Saturday evening, June 1, 2019 at home surrounded by family. She was born on August 21, 1946 in Escanaba, the daughter of Bernard and Grace (Nyquist) Seidl. Sherri was raised in Escanaba and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1964. Following graduation, Sherri’s first job was at the Piggly Wiggly in town. From there, she worked clerical positions at various stores in the area including Nyman Jewelers and the Red Owl. Her last employment was for Community Action in Escanaba where she worked in the kitchen and delivered Meals on Wheels. Due to health reasons, Sherri retired and was able to work on projects at home. The former Sherri L. Seidl married William Gregory Schultz on November 19, 1983 in Escanaba. Together, the couple shared 35 wonderful years of marriage. Sherri enjoyed the little things in life such as gardening, painting, taking painting classes, and baking. She was a social butterfly and loved being around people and cooking delicious meals for them. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren as they meant the world to her. Sherri was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Escanaba.
Sherri Lyn Schultz is survived by her husband, William Schultz of Gladstone (Groos); son, Michael Scheuren of Escanaba; step-children, Pam (Jeff) Carlson of Gladstone, Patty Seeley of Escanaba, Paula (Roy) Cady of AZ, and Polly (Jimmy D.) Wunder of Escanaba; step-grandchildren, Jason Carlson, Ben Carlson, Megan (Trevor) Lovell, Alesha (Phil) Swanson, Crissy (Eric) Phillips, Cassie (Brad) Liberty, Levi Wunder, Scout Wunder, and Tommy Cady; sisters, Vicki Seidl Blair of Energy, IL, and Merri Seidl Stern of Jacksonville, FL; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Donna Cavill.
Sherri was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Grace Seidl.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2019 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Sherri will follow at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kristine Ertl officiating. A luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the services in the St. Anne Catholic Church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in the Bark River Cemetery.
