Welcome to the memorial page for

Sam Peterson

October 5, 2017

Sam Peterson, 30, of Tavares Florida, passed away Thursday, October 5th in a one car accident.  He was the only son of Tim and Lori Peterson of Mount Dora, Florida and is survived by his parents; his Fiancé, Patty Kahn, 39, of Tavares; and his 3-year-old Daughter, Niya.

Sam is grandson to Owen Peterson of Gladstone, MI; Gene and Arlene Mercier, The Villages, FL; and Bob and Joyce Heynssens, Gladstone, MI.

Sam was Vice President of Commercial Door and Frame, owned by his parents, and had worked there since he was a teenager. He was an integral part of the business and had carpentry skills at age 15 that some people would not have achieved in their lifetime. He was capable, strong, and able to do most anything; and actually believed he could do anything.  Nothing would stop him.

His personality would light up a room along with his perpetual smile and amazing humor. Making people laugh was one of Sam’s gifts and he will always and forever be remembered for his practical jokes, witty remarks, and contagious laugh.

Sam’s passion was fishing, diving, and anything that involved being on the water, in the water, or looking at the water. His love for fishing was only surpassed by the love for his fiancé, daughter, family, and friends.

In a perfect world, Sam would not have wanted anything more than what was written by Jimmy Buffet – “Wrote a note, said "Be back in a minute"--Bought a boat and I sailed off in it--Mind on a permanent vacation--The ocean is my only medication -- Wishin' my condition ain't ever gonna go away”

Sam has sailed off into the sunset…never forgotten, always remembered, and forever loved.

A celebration of life will be held on October 21, 2017 from 11-3 at Highland Manor, 604 East Main Street, Apopka, FL.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to help raise his daughter. Condolences can be sent to Patty Kahn, 26622 East Cove Drive, Tavares. FL 32778.
