Welcome to the memorial page for

Sally L. Constantino

September 21, 1959 ~ January 20, 2018 (age 58) 58 Years Old

Sally L. Constantino, age 58, of Rapid River, passed away Saturday morning, January 20, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family after her 3-year battle with cancer.

Sally was born on September 21, 1959 in Escanaba, MI, the daughter of George and Lillie (Sutherland) Johnson. She married Stanley Constantino, Sr. on January 10, 1977 and graduated from Gladstone High School in the spring of 1977.

Sally was a people-person (loved people) and would talk with anyone (anywhere) who would listen. She was very active in the community. Sally worked/volunteered at the Rapid River Schools for over 25 years in various roles and enjoyed working with children. She also enjoyed serving at the Congregational Church in Rapid River. Sally’s husband is an avid Harley Davidson motorcyclist and she shared that passion with him. They traveled to many places in the United States on their motorcycle, including South Dakota and Florida. If Sally wasn’t cheering on kids at a sporting event, attending an ABATE meeting, or bowling with Stan, you could find her at the shopping mall.  As her health decreased, she became proficient at online shopping.  Although Sally had many interests and accomplishments, her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren: Khody, Wyatt, Damyn, and Grady Smith; Cierra, Cydnie, and Cyanna Carignan, and Marli and Myles Constantino. Sally’s voice, laugh, and compassion for others will be remembered by all who knew her.

Sally is survived by her caring husband, Stanley Constantino, Sr.; daughters, Becki (Jack) Smith; and Aimee (Lee) Carignan; son, Stanley Constantino Jr. (Kristina Schmidt); mother, Lillie Johnson; brother, Rick (Sherry) Johnson; sister, Jean McMillan; brother, Dan (Val) Johnson; sister-in-law, Rhonda Constantino; brothers-in-law, Steve Constantino (Michelle LaMarque), and Richard (Heidi) Boden; sisters-in-law, Kelly Constantino (Tony Mathias), and Karla Constantino; and many special nieces and nephews.

Sally was preceded in death by father, George Johnson; sister, Kelly Boden; and father and mother-in-law, Eli and Clara Constantino.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Grace Church in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Sally will follow at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Grace Church with Pastor Jon Potes and Pastor Bill Rafuse officiating. A luncheon will be served afterward in the Grace Church Fellowship Hall. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Rest Mausoleum.
