Robert Milton Monson, age 82, of 330 North 14th Street in Escanaba, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Christian Park Village in Escanaba. He was born August 9, 1935 in Escanaba, MI, the son of Milton and Ethel (Anderson) Monson. Bob grew up in Escanaba and played football and basketball at Escanaba High School, graduating in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army over in Japan from March 1, 1955 until he was honorably discharged on February 9, 1957. Bob attended and graduated from California State University, Fullerton. He did some substitute teaching in California until he moved back to Escanaba. He was employed as a plumber for Beck Plumbing and Heating, Berger and King Plumbing and Heating, and worked out of the Plumber’s Union Hall. Bob later moved back to California until his retirement. In 1995 he moved back to Escanaba. He was a former member of the Escanaba Country Club, and Highland Golf Club, and he enjoyed golfing, hunting, and baseball.

Several Nieces and Nephews
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Steward Monson, and Terry Monson; and sisters, Marilyn Christensen and Mary Monson.
Private family services were held at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba.
