Patricia Rudenberg Obituary

Patricia “Pat” Ann Rudenberg, age 84, formerly of Gladstone, passed away early Friday morning, June 21, 2019 at the home of her daughter’s in Rapid River, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 1, 1934 in Escanaba, the daughter of Andrew and Mabel (Johnson) Lindquist. Pat was raised in Escanaba and was a 1952 graduate of Escanaba High School. She went on to further her education to attend St. Vincent College of Nursing in Chicago. The former Patricia Ann Lindquist married Francis A. Rudenberg on November 24, 1954 at Central United Methodist Church in Escanaba and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2010. Together, the couple shared 55 years of marriage and raised 6 children. Pat was employed at OSF St. Francis Hospital after attending nursing school and into the early years of their marriage. After having children, Pat’s focus was being a homemaker where she cared for the needs of her children and husband. Francis was employed by Shell Oil Company in Wells and relocated the family to Minneapolis, MN in 1972 to work at a different Shell Oil terminal. The family lived there until 1979 when Francis moved to another Shell Oil terminal to Evansville, IN. In 1980, after her children were older, Pat returned to nursing school and attended Evansville School of Practical Nursing. She received her LPN degree in 1982 while still raising 3 children at home. After Francis’ retirement in 1984, they moved back to Gladstone. Pat had a passion for helping people and caring for them. She volunteered much of her time with the OSF St. Francis Hospice, the Delta County Cancer Alliance, and volunteered with all aspects with the Memorial United Methodist Church. Pat enjoyed bowling, playing cards, knitting and cross-stitching, and taking daily walks. Family always came first as they meant the world to her.
