Nancy Doris Strem

Nancy Doris Strem, age 90, of W490 County Road 400 in Bark River, MI, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019, at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 13, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Linus J. and Adelaide (Breckheimer) Busch. Nancy was a member of the 1947 Graduating Class of Menominee High School. Following graduation, Nancy began her employment with the Michigan Bell Telephone Company in Menominee, MI. The former Nancy Busch married Harry ‘Bud’ Strem on July 18, 1953 at Epiphany Catholic Church in Menominee. Together the couple shared nearly 66 years of marriage and raised 3 children, Patti, Bill, and Marcia. In 1955, Harry and Nancy relocated to Escanaba and later to Bark River in 1974. In 1968, Nancy returned to her employment for the Michigan Bell Telephone Company in Escanaba where she began as an operator and later worked as a service clerk until her retirement in 1986. Nancy was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Bark River. She loved spending time with her family and going to their cottage on Lake Michigan. She loved to shop with her friend, Colleen, was an avid reader, and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds.

Nancy Doris Strem is survived by husband, Harry ‘Bud’ Strem of Bark River; children, Patti (Tim) Gould of Bark River, Bill (Bonnie) Strem of Escanaba, and Marcia (Ken) Bower of Bark River; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Bower, Ryan Strem, Jessica (John) Gannon, Cassie (Brian) Kleiman, and Kevin Gould; two great-grandchildren, Isabella Kleiman, and Teagan Gannon; one brother, Gale (Kathy) Busch of Green Bay, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Busch.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Bark River with Father Darryl J. Pepin officiating. A luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the services in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette, WI.
