Michelle Ann DeGraves “Grandma Shelf”, age 51, of Escanaba, passed away Saturday evening, September 21, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family after she lost her hard-fought four-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on August 15, 1968 to parents Tex and Gladys DeGraves. She served for over 15 years in the health care setting as a CNA and private home health caregiver taking care of the community’s loved ones.
Michelle Ann DeGraves is survived by her grandmother, Doris Irene DeGrave who resides at Christian Park Nursing Home in Escanaba; her mother, Gladys DeGraves of Florida and Colorado; her four children, Amber DeGrave, Michael Ault (Terri Gilbert), Derick DeGraves, and Courtney DeGraves all living locally; her beloved grandchildren, Kendra, Ashton, Devyn, Ryleigh, Aubriee, Cameron, Blake, Madelyn, and Lillian; siblings, Tuesday DeGraves of Escanaba, Amy DeGraves of Iron Mountain, Jason DeGraves of AZ, and Nathan DeGraves of West Palm Beach, FL; her dearest friends, Tricia Bernier, Josh Gagnier, and Rosemary Devilry; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. A celebration of Michelle’s life will follow at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. A luncheon will be held immediately following at the USW Local 2-21 Union Hall.
