Kathleen Davidson Obituary

Kathleen Frances Davidson, age 70, of 710 South 14th Street in Escanaba, passed away Saturday evening, August 10, 2019 at her home. She was born on February 2, 1949, the daughter of James S. and Marelyn G. (Weir) Davidson, Jr. Kathleen was raised in Escanaba and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1968. Kathy lived an amazing life surrounded by the things she loved. An avid Detroit Tiger fan, she diligently recorded every stat for every game since the early 1960s. By memory, she could tell you who started what game in what year and who won that game. Kathleen was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan who planned her day and outings around the start of games, races, or her favorite shows. She followed the Brewers, the Cubs, the Pistons, the Bucks, and NASCAR. She was devoted to Dale Earnhardt, Jr. until his retirement and then threw her support to his successor, Alex Bowman. Many a ruckus was raised over Packer games and NASCAR races when we all got together and watched with her.

Probably her biggest love was her love for music – especially Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson. Growing up we could count on her to rock the house with her music, singing, and dancing. Kathleen knew who recorded what song and in what year. Her favorite song, was Michael Jackson’s, “Man in the Mirror.” Take a minute and listen to the words. Not overly affectionate, she did love to spend time with family, and if she liked you, she would hold your hand. Not a world traveler or even one wanting to leave Escanaba (for any reason) we made the trip to Memphis and Graceland a few years ago so she could visit where Elvis lived and died. It was the highlight of her life. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Escanaba, the Aktion Club, and C.H.A.T where she had many friends. She will be missed by all of us who loved her, cared for her, and helped her stay so independent until the end.

Kathleen F. Davidson is survived by her siblings, Jim (Connie) Davidson, Linda (Jim) Beauchamp, and Steve (Gina) Davidson; nephews and nieces, Jason, Bryn, Erin, Ashley, Aly, Tammy, Tracy, Jimmy, and John; great-nieces, Maddie, Gwen, Ella, and Nikki; great-nephew, Kyle; great-great-niece, Hailee; aunts, Alicemae Laakso, Gerry Davidson, and Judy Davidson; uncle, Phil (Ann) Davidson; and many loving cousins.
