June M. Oslund, age 91, of 1124 N. 18th St. in Escanaba passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at Cedar Grove located at Pinecrest Medical Facility in Powers. She was born on August 18, 1926 in Escanaba, the daughter of Grover and Minnie (Vinnie) Gosnell. June grew up in Escanaba and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1944. She went on to attend nursing school at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. The former June M. Gosnell married Carl L. Oslund on August 20, 1945 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Escanaba and he preceded her in death on October 7, 1999. Together, the couple shared 54 years of marriage and raised four children. June was employed as a nurse at Dr. Ryde’s office and later worked for Dr. Gossan until her retirement. She was a very active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she spent many hours volunteering, she was involved in the quilting group, the Lutheran Legion, and also attended bible study regularly. June was strong in her Lutheran faith and read her daily devotional every day. She enjoyed wintering with her husband, Carl, at Sundance RV Park in Yuma, AZ for 31 years and also traveling around the United States. There were only 5 states she and Carl did not visit. Family meant the world to June and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

June M. Oslund is survived by four children, Sam (Gaynelle) Oslund of Big Bay, MI, Marty (Joyce Anderson) Oslund of Escanaba, Marcia (Mark) Bobula of Ontonagon, MI, and Kevin (Candy) Oslund of Spalding, MI; 14 grandchildren, David Oslund, Kirsten Nelson, Julie Benette, Kim Krans, Jim Bobula, Steve Bobula, Jeff Bobula, Derk Oslund, Kyle Oslund, Deanna Ray, Carl Oslund, Lisa Oslund, Amy Oslund, and Adam Oslund; 28 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Lena, Jonathan, Micah, Rachael, Abigail, Bode, Evelyn, Landon, Camryn, Kellan, Riley, Emmy, Alli, Brody, Hallie, Morgan, Madison, Abbie, Devon, Mikayla, Abby, Kurt, Emily, Cassie, Hunter, Anthony, and Derk II; several nieces and nephews; and niece and nephew, Laural and Chris Jensen.

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Phyllis Johnson, Irma Lewis, and Ruth Eul.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 29, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of June will follow at 1:00 p.m., Friday, with Rev. Judy Kincaid officiating. A luncheon will be served afterward in the church fellowship hall.
