June M. Eastman

June M. Eastman, age 86, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully Monday morning, January 22, 2018 at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba where she has resided for the past 2 years. She was born on June 5, 1931 in Escanaba, the daughter of Hedvig and Doris (Trombley) Sodergren. June met Carl Eastman, Jr. while working as a waitress at Tim and Sally’s. Carl caught her attention by always tipping her two cents under his plate. The couple married and raised their loving family. Carl preceded her in death on June 25, 2011. June was a homemaker, devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. In her later years, June helped care for her elderly mother.

She will be sadly missed by her 4 children, Linda (Larry) Drummond of Naperville, IL, Dennis (Mary) Eastman of Escanaba, Debbie (Kris) Johnson of California, and Greg (Maria) Eastman of Green Bay, WI; 7 grandchildren, Laura Beth, Lindsey, Kyle, Gunnar, Gus, Gabe, and Hannah; 5 sisters, Linnea (Ed) Langtange, Lois (Clayton) VanDrese, Beverly (Shirryl) Lloyd, Roberta (Bob) Anderson, and Gloria Terrian; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by her sister, Jeannea.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of June will follow at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Johnson officiating. A luncheon will be served afterward in the Anderson Funeral Home fellowship area. Burial will take place in Lakeview Cemetery.
