Dale F. Russell, age 69, of Northland, MI, passed away early Saturday morning, December 15, 2018 at U.P. Health System – Marquette. He was born on June 11, 1949, the second youngest of eight children to Alexander and Amanda (Carlson) Russell. Dale grew up in Northland and was a 1967 graduate of Gwinn High School. He worked as a carpenter for a few years and later was employed as a millwright for many years until his health disallowed him to continue working. Dale married the former Paula Anderson on October 16, 1976 in Escanaba. Together, the couple shared 42 years of marriage. Dale was an excellent carpenter and used his skills to build three beautiful houses. He was an avid rabbit hunter, enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, gardening, spending time on his pontoon boat, camping, and anything to do with the outdoors.
Dale F. Russell is survived by his wife, Paula Russell of Northland; three brothers, James Russell of Northland, Carl (Carol) Russell of Northland, and Dave Russell of Northland; one sister, Joyce Caloerone of Crystal Lake, IL; several nieces and nephews; one dog, Jack; and one kitty, Daisy.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Donald; and one sister, Lois.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Dale will follow at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Elise Low Edwardson officiating. A luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the services at the Northtown Crown Bar in Escanaba.
