Nancy L. Paquin, age 80, of 8053 County 426 M.5 Road in Gladstone, passed away Saturday evening, March 31, 2018 at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba. She was born on May 2, 1937 in Petoskey, MI, the daughter of William and Martha (Larson) Kuebler. At a young age, she was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. She was never one to complain or let it slow her down. Nancy grew up in Petoskey and later moved to Escanaba where she graduated from high school in 1955. Following graduation, she worked at the Delta County Court House. On December 1, 1956 the former Nancy L. Kuebler married Arthur Paquin at Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock. The couple shared 61 years of marriage together and raised three children. Nancy loved being a homemaker where she cared for her husband and children. She appreciated the little things in life, especially artwork. She loved drawing and was an accomplished artist. Nancy enjoyed fishing and ice-skating. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren as family was very important to her.
Nancy L. Paquin is survived by husband, Arthur Paquin of Gladstone; children, Amber Norkooli of Gladstone, Wade (Tammy) Paquin of Escanaba, and Amy (Andy) Broeders of Brampton; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Janell, Lauren, Kyle, Allie, Jaylene, Erica, and Rochelle; 5 great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Rianna, Xavier, Blake, and Nolan; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Emer “Sonny” Peterson.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock with Father Francis Dobrzenski officiating. A luncheon will be served afterward in the church fellowship hall. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Rest Mausoleum.
