Kathleen Ann Lane, age 54, of Wilson, passed away Sunday morning, February 4, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 6, 1963 in Plainwell, MI, the daughter of Jack and Marilyn (Thompson) Sipple. Kathy grew up outside of the Kalamazoo area and graduated from Martin High School in Martin, MI. She had a passion since the young age of 5 to become a veterinarian. Kathy attended Michigan State University where she received a doctorate’s degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. She owned and operated Best Friends Veterinary Clinic out of her home in Wilson, MI for many years. She loved animals and caring for all (big and small). Kathy married Terry Lane on June 6, 2009 in Wilson and shared 8 wonderful years of marriage together. She was proud of her children and all that they have accomplished throughout their life. Kathy was strong in her faith as a Sunday school teacher and choir director at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hyde. She also was a member of Sion Lutheran Church in Chatham, MI. Kathleen lived a life full of love and adventure. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her gracious and compassionate disposition.
Kathleen Ann Lane is survived by husband, Terry Lane of Wilson; daughter, Breyanna Waldsmith of Bellingham, WA; son, John Waldsmith of Bark River; parents, Jack and Marilyn Sipple of Shelbyville, MI; sisters, Christine (Art) DeBruyn of Greenwood, IN, and Karen (Ted) Hildebrand of Shelbyville, MI; brother, Kirt Sipple of Martin, MI; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Sion Lutheran Church in Chatham. Funeral services celebrating the life of Kathleen will follow at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, at Sion Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Kelto officiating. A luncheon will be served afterward in the church fellowship hall.
