Jeneatte S. Jaeger, age 81, of Bark River, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at Christian Park Village in Escanaba. She was born on March 23, 1936 in Ford River, the daughter of Richard, Sr. and Adeline (McMahon) Jaeger. Jeneatte grew up in Ford River as one of four children and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1954. Following graduation, she worked for Montgomery Ward in Escanaba. She then was employed by General Electric in Chicago for a short time. Jeneatte moved back to Escanaba and worked for Harnischfeger Corporation for 23 years until her retirement when they closed. Following retirement, Jeneatte moved in with her mother to care for her during her later years. Jeneatte had such a giving and compassionate nature about her. In her earlier years, she enjoyed bowling with the Harnischfeger Women’s Bowling Team. She loved watching the world around her, especially wildlife and tending her flowers. In her later years, Jeneatte enjoyed seeing pictures of her massive family’s adventures. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hyde where she served on the Ladies Aid for many years.

Jeneatte S. Jaeger is survived by sister, Ruth Sneed of Hodgkins, IL; several nieces and nephews; and many grand-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jeneatte was preceded in death by sister, Dorothy Harris; and brother, Richard, Jr.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Jeneatte will follow at 1:00 p.m., Friday, in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Zindler officiating. Burial will take place in the West Ford River Cemetery.
