Following graduation, George moved with his family to Cleveland, OH for his first job. While living in Cleveland, their son, Samuel, was born in 1966. George and his family returned to Michigan in 1967 when George began an apprenticeship as an Ironworker with Local 25. George resided in the Detroit-Metro area until 1995, following the death of his wife Mary. George always had a deep love for the woods, hunting, and fishing. He also could be a bit of a daredevil on the snowmobile.
